With the increasingly close global industrial and economic ties, the internal and external uncertainties faced by various regions have also increased, making cities resistant to shocks and their ability and potential to recover development have become hot topics in recent years. The diversified industrial structure is conducive to the improvement of economic resilience has become the consensus of most scholars. However,on the one hand, previous studies have highlighted the decentralizing effect of the diversity structure on economic shocks, but to a certain extent, have ignored the fact that the industry is still affected. On the other hand, the existence of technological distances has made it less likely that some industries will promote transformation and upgrading by accepting technological spillovers. Therefore, the technological relationship between industries should also be valued. In addition,at present,China is actively establishing a new model that leads to the development of urban agglomerations with central cities, and promotes the integration and interactive development between cities. The industrial economy between different cities and between cities does not exist in isolation. Therefore,an in-depth analysis of the impact of industrial-related diversity structures with internal correlations on economic resilience is of great significance to optimizing the industrial structure of cities in China, improving economic resilience, and promoting stable and high-quality economic development. The purpose of this article is to study the impact and mechanism of industrialrelated diversity on urban economic resilience.First, based on the theoretical research on industrial-related diversity and urban economic resilience, the connotations of the two are defined, and the analysis method of transmission path is used to make assumptions about the impact path of industrial-related diversity on economic resilience. Then, based on the panel data of 276 major cities in China from 2008 to 2017,a threshold model is used to introduce the difference in innovation level to study the nonlinear effect of industry-related diversity on urban economic resilience. Then, through spatial Dubin model, direct and indirect effects are introduced to analyze the spatial spillover effects of industry-related diversity on urban economic resilience. In addition,in the process of empirical research, the different roles of the two were examined from the perspective of scale heterogeneity and spatial heterogeneity. Finally, the empirical conclusions are summarized, and targeted policy recommendations are proposed from the perspectives of optimizing the industrial structure, advancing the interaction between industries and cities, and seeking differential development,in order to improve the urban economic resilience, promote regional coordination and integration, and promote high-quality economic development. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows.(1)Through a systematic analysis of the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of urban industry-related diversity and economic resilience,it can be found that there is a large difference between the two.The spatial distribution of urban industry-related diversity shows a decreasing pattern of "East-Central-Western",and the overall evolution of time shows an upward trend, but there is a difference in the increase. From the analysis of scale heterogeneity, the industry-related diversity index increases with the expansion of cities.Urban economic resilience shows a rising trend. The overall urban resilience in the eastern region is higher than that in the central and western regions, and this gap is gradually narrowing. From the analysis of scale heterogeneity, there is a positive correlation between economic resilience and city size, and the economic resilience of very large cities is much higher than that of other cities.(2)Through the threshold model, the difference in innovation level is introduced, and it is found that the impact of industry-related diversity structure on urban economic resilience presents significant non-linear threshold characteristics with the improvement of the overall innovation level. In low-innovation cities,industry-related diversity has an inhibitory effect on urban economic resilience. As the level of innovation improves and even exceeds a certain threshold, the supporting role of industry-related diversity in economic resilience will gradually increase, and it will show a positive supporting effect in highinnovation cities.Further tests show that the threshold effect of related diversity on economic resilience in the perspective of scale heterogeneity and spatial heterogeneity presents a large difference.(3)Through the spatial Dubin model,it is found that industry-related diversity has a positive spatial spillover effect on urban economic resilience, and the indirect spillover effect is far greater than the direct effect, that is,the structure of the city-related diversity in neighboring areas has a greater effect on local economic resilience As obvious.Further analysis shows that there are significant differences in the spatial spillover effects of industry-related diversity on economic resilience from the perspective of scale heterogeneity and spatial heterogeneity. On the one hand, with the expansion of cities, the positive spillover effect of industry-related diversity on economic resilience has gradually increased. On the other hand, the spillover effect in the eastern region is significantly stronger than in the northeast and western regions. The main marginal contribution of this article is to refine the research object to 276 major cities, covering the four major regions of east, middle, west, and northeast, and five scales from large to small, ranging from shock response capabilities, organizational adjustment capabilities, and self-innovation capabilities. The aspect defines and systematically measures the economic resilience of major cities in the country, and tries to start from a micro perspective. With the help of the panel threshold model and the spatial Dubin model,it can further explore the path of improving the economic resilience of cities based on industry-related diversity, and contribute to the existing industrial structure. And economic resilience research.
