Study On The Effect Of Aging Labor Force On Garlic Producers' Production Technology Efficiency

The migration of agricultural labor between regions and departments began in the early 1980 s.The establishment of the market economy system in 1992 made the labor-intensive industries,urban construction,and service industries in the southeastern coastal areas attract the central and western regions,especially rural areas.The influx of labor into coastal areas and developed cities has caused the migration of young and middle-aged labor from rural areas to cities.The urbanization process continues to deepen,the life expectancy of the population is extended,the structure of the labor market is changed,and the rural youth labor force flows to the city on a large scale,which accelerates the aging of the agricultural population and labor force.In agricultural production,the rural elderly labor force accounts for an increasing proportion of agricultural production."Old agriculture" has become one of the typical characteristics of China's agricultural production.The author uses the DEA model as an entry point to measure the production technical efficiency of garlic growers in 84 villages of Lanling County,Shandong Province,and analyzes the garlic production technical efficiency from the aspects of garlic growers' family characteristics and garlic planting characteristics.The distribution characteristics and change trend of the data,and the regression analysis of the difference of the results.The study found that:(1)Garlic farmers in Lanling County of Shandong Province account for a high proportion of the labor force over the age of 60,and their physical health status is weaker than that of the young and middleaged labor force,which reduces the efficiency of garlic planting production technology.(2)The number of garlic varieties planted by garlic growers and the number of acres planted by garlic have a significant negative impact on the efficiency of garlic production technology of farmers.(3)The annual income of farmers 'households and the number of garlic technology training times are positively correlated with the production technical efficiency of garlic growers.Among them,the income of farmers' households is significantly positively correlated.In response to the impact of the aging agricultural labor force in Lanling County on garlic production efficiency,the government should establish agricultural social service agencies to reduce farmers 'production costs through government subsidies,adjust planting structure,and adapt to climate when planting other seasonal crops Flowers and other ornamental plants.
