Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On The Manufacturing Upgrade Of The Pearl River Delta

In recent years,with the development of the Internet and the rapid changes in the communications era,more and more countries have adopted the development of the digital economy as an important means to improve international competitiveness.With Chinese economy entering the new normal and the manufacturing industry facing transformation and upgrading,the Pearl River Delta not only fully represents the advanced level of China's manufacturing industry,but also reflects its strong competitiveness in the digital economy.At present,the Pearl River Delta is accelerating the transformation of the digital industry,transforming the mode of economic development,and sprinting towards the goal of a world-class urban agglomeration against the world's advanced urban agglomerations.Therefore,the in-depth study of the impact of the Pearl River Delta digital economy on the level of manufacturing upgrades have important theoretical and practical significance.on China's industrial upgrading path research and the development of China's regional integrationThis article first describes the manufacturing upgrade and digital economy research under the global value chain,and analyzes the impact mechanism of the digital economy on the manufacturing upgrade.In view of the limitations of the current literature in the research area and research variables,this paper combines current industry upgrade influencing factors and digital economic development hotspots.First,the paper analyze the status of the Pearl River Delta's manufacturing upgrades from the perspective of manufacturing aggregation,manufacturing value added,labor productivity,R & D investment,manufacturing structure and energy consumption The paper also analyze the current status of the digital economy in the cities of the Pearl River Delta from the perspective of digital infrastructure,communications,information manufacturing,and information service industries,.the paper measure the upgrading of the Pearl River Delta manufacturing industry and the digital economic index through principal component analysis Next,this article makes a regression analysis of the impact of the digital economy on the upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta.Taking the nine major cities in the Pearl River Delta from 2008 to 2017 as example,the manufacturing upgrade indicators and the digital economic indicators measured by the principal component analysis method are used as dependent variables and independent variables,respectively.Foreign direct investment,manufacturing employment,manufacturing fixed asset investment,scientific expenditure,industry size,and financial institution loan ratio were selected as control variables.The research conclusion of this paper is that in the past ten years,the manufacturing upgrading of cities in the Pearl River Delta has improved,.the efficiency of resource input and output is a factor that affects the upgrading of manufacturing.At the same time,the positive role of the digital economy in the upgrading of the manufacturing industry has been verified,but among the cities in the Pearl River Delta,the impact in the backward regions of the digital economy on the upgrading of the manufacturing industry is not significant.From the perspective of control variables,except for the impact of foreign direct investment on the upgrading of the regional manufacturing industry,the remaining control variables have a positive promotion effect on the overall upgrade of the manufacturing industry in the region..In particular,labor factors and scientific research inputs both have a significant impact on the upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the advanced digital economy and backward areas in the Pearl River Delta Based on the empirical results,this article puts forward suggestions for the upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta from three perspectives: regional division of labor,collaboration,innovation,and improvement of labor quality.
