Since the beginning of the 21 st century, the trend of economic globalization and regionalization has continued to expand and affect all countries in the world, promoting the rapid development of foreign trade and making great contributions to the construction and development of the national economy. In addition, this is an objective trend, and it also plays a very important role in the process of social reproduction, which is derived from the differences in natural conditions, the level of scientific and technological development of countries.Foreign trade is an important part of a country's economy and an indispensable driving force for a country's economic growth.China is currently the target country for Vietnam's largest import and export trade, and trade between China and Vietnam is great significance to Vietnam's economic growth. On the one hand,Vietnam exports to China will help Vietnam to develop an Export-Oriented economic strategy, improve the living standards of residents in Northern Vietnam and increase Vietnam's employment opportunities. On the other hand,Vietnam imports from China will temporarily supplement Vietnam's products that are temporarily unavailable. It is driving force for the end of production to meet the needs of domestic consumers,in order to maintain the balance of the economy, ensure the stability and sustainable development of Vietnam's economy, and give full play to its economic advantages and potential. This thesis uses both quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to study the extent to which bilateral trade drives Vietnam's economic growth, and uses economic explanations to clarify and cope with these strategies. My thesis consists of five main parts. The first chapter is the background and significance of the introduction. It also reviews the current research status at home and abroad, and puts forward the research ideas, contents, methods and innovations and deficiencies of the thesis. The second chapter analyzes the main theoretical summaries of foreign trade and economic growth, and summarizes the literature on foreign trade, economic growth, the relationship between foreign trade and economic growth, and the research on the impact of trade development on economic growth at home and abroad.Mainly from the analysis of the factors affecting economic growth, then how trade promotes economic growth in developing countries, and the relationship between trade and economic growth in developing countries through three perspectives, collating and summarizing the empirical conclusions of the impact of trade on economic growth in developing countries. The third chapter analyzes the development of SinoVietnam trade and the status quo.It reviews the economic growth process since Vietnam's reform and opening up,analyzes the status quo of Sino-Vietnam trade development and uses the trade dependence formula to caculate and RCA index to further clarify the characteristics of bilateral trade. Then it discusses the main factors affecting Sino-Vietnam trade and points out the problems of bilateral trade. The fourth chapter is an empirical analysis of the impact of Sino-Vietnam trade on Vietnam's economic growth.Firstly, proposing the basic assumptions of the VAR model. After that, using the data of imports, exports between China and Vietnam,Gross private domestic investment,Vietnam's Government consumption expenditures and Gross investment,Personal consumption expenditures and GDP from 1995 to 2015,and using the measurement method and model, the measurement results show that China-Vietnam trade and Vietnam's economic growth has a significant correlation. The last chapter is the conclusion and prospect as well as the policy recommendations for Sino-Vietnam trade development.Specifically, this part mainly proposes countermeasures and future research prospects for SinoVietnam trade development based on the characteristics of it.
