Investigation Of Sesame Muskmelon Industry In Yuyang District Of Yulin City

Thin skinned melon is a special planting industry in Yuyang District of Yulin City for many years.However,the problems of variety degradation and confusion are prominent in the production of melon.It is of great significance for the sustainable development of this characteristic industry to investigate the industrial status and existing problems.In this study,the current situation and existing problems of muskmelon industry in Yuyang District were analyzed by means of questionnaire and field investigation,the selection of sesame Muskmelon varieties,determination of sowing date and cultivation techniques were systematically summarized.Meanwhile,this paper analyzes the industrial status and existing problems of muskmelon industry,then puts forward suggestions for industrial development.The main results are as follows:(1)Our agricultural technology department conducted the trials on cultivar selection of the thin skin muskmelon,according to the analysis of the cultivation characters,yield and commodity characters of different cultivars of muskmelon,Changchun sesame muskmelon had the highest single fruit weight,the highest yield per hectare and the highest yield compared with the control,followed by Shandong A sesame muskmelon.The highest content of soluble solids,the best flavor and taste is Changchun sesame muskmelon,followed by Shandong A sesame muskmelon.Comprehensive analysis shows that Changchun Sesame Muskmelon and Shandong A Sesame Muskmelon can be used as main cultivars of Muskmelon in Yuyang District.(2)Our agricultural technology department conducted a systematic experiment of screening the sowing date of sesame Muskmelon in winter and spring,it is concluded that the most suitable sowing time for greenhouse cultivation of sesame muskmelon was early January,and the most suitable sowing time for plastic arch shed cultivation was early March,In these two sowing dates,sesame muskmelon not only has low freezing rate,medium growth period,early marketing time,but also has good quality,high yield,highest output value and maximum income.(3)The current situation and existing problems of Sesame Muskmelon industry in Yuyang District were clarified through industrial investigation.In recent years,Yuyang District has implemented the "3+2+X" industrial development strategy,taking Sesame Muskmelon as the dominant and characteristic industry in the field of facility vegetables.There are 19 villages and towns in the region,12 of which are involved in Sesame Muskmelon industry.At present,48 demonstration bases of high standard facilities over 100 mu have been built,and 9 seedling points have been concentrated.In 2019,the planting area of Sesame Muskmelon in Yuyang District is 653.3 hectares,accounting for 29.0% of the total planting area of melon.The annual output is 19000 tons,which is 18.4% of the annual output of melon.The annual output value reaches 307 million yuan,accounting for 67.03% of the annual output value of melon,accounting for 4.3% of the annual agricultural economic output value,and the average benefit per hectare is about 471000 yuan.Through investigation and research,some problems were found such as too small scale of individual production and operation,continuous cropping obstacle has become a difficult problem in production technology,insufficient capital investment,lack of supportive policies,lagging behind of postpartum marketing service and imperfect service system.(4)Based on the results of experimental research and investigation,the sustainable development suggestions of Sesame Muskmelon industry in Yuyang District are put forward as follows: accelerate the development of industrial management,build interest linkage mechanism;rely on scientific and technological support to improve product competitiveness;increase policy support to mobilize farmers' enthusiasm for production;build an Internet cloud sales service center to facilitate the convergence of production and marketing by e-commerce;and we should improve the service system,pay close attention to the cultivation of talents,encourage brand building,and create a well-known brand in Yuyang.
