Abstract/Summary:
Graphene is a wonder material with a potential to be the next disruptive technology. Its material properties are second to none. However, in order to unleash its full potential, the growth and transfer needs to be optimized so that it can be incorporated in the current semiconductor device fabrication methods. In this thesis, I report growth of monolayer, large area, continuous and uniform graphene on copper using chemical vapor deposition and a step-wise supply of methane. I then investigate the available transfer methods and introduce my own by using S1818 for transferring graphene from copper to silicon substrates and determine which is the best by using Raman spectroscopy and optical microscopy.
