Many efforts have been made to obtain a better understanding of the nucleus-nucleus interaction via the optical model. The Pauli effect is one of the main difficulties in the optical model description of composite particle scattering. Conventional local optical models cannot simulate the full antisymmetrization of a composite particle system. Here we reexamine the fish-bone optical model. This model has a relatively simple structure and is Pauli-correct for a certain class of effective microscopic interactions. In our work, we will determine the fitting parameters such that it reproduces the a --- a experimental data by trying different local potentials.
