Abstract/Summary:
As we are each made in God's image, our imagination is our first connecting point with God. Paradigm shifts in our imagination convert and form us spiritually. Throughout history, images have been used to inform our imagination about God.;This project explores my thesis asserting that visual expressions serve as catalytic tools that engage our imagination in unique ways in our spiritual formation. As pastors of local churches, we seek ways in which our congregation and new-comers can mature and be renewed in our faith journeys. Visual images can become a tool for reflection on scripture through sermon illustrations, visio divina prayer practices, and creative expressions of our sojourning souls. Offering creative and contemplative visual ministries can be fruitful offerings for churches as we seek to help people connect with God in this post-modern context.
