Abstract/Summary:
It was my destiny to be born and raised in a multi-ethic and multi-religious region in Syria. Diversity in any society can be a blessing or a curse. My main goal of this research project was to gain insights into how to insure that the diversity of my home region is a blessing to my country, Syria, and my home region of Al-Hassakeh. Although Al-Hassakeh is a multi-ethnic region, I focused on the Syrian Kurdish minority because it is the minority that has expressed most agitation in recent years. My hope is that this work will contribute to the building of new bridges and rebuilding of any broken old bridges between all the communities of the Al-Hassakeh province in Syria.
