This study investigates the virtual worlds of MMORPGs of the global gaming community through a phenomenological perspective, gives a brief history of the evolution of MMORPGs and discusses the significance these games have in the lives of its gamers' and developers', explores gamers and developers motivations, negative consequences of excessive game play, and defines the global gaming community, and shows that MMORPGs are more than just a product to gamers and game companies but are in fact a new art form. |
