Abstract/Summary:
This action research project examined the campus visit factors that influenced the decision of prospective softball players to attend Southwest Minnesota State University. Twenty softball players who signed a letter of intent to play for Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2006, 2007, or 2008 seasons participated in the study. The student-athletes completed the Softball Visit Factors survey. Analysis of the data consisted of means, frequencies, standard deviations, and percentages. The findings of the study revealed prospective softball player's decision to attend the University is based on the softball team and the softball program and the experiences related to both during the campus visit. The meeting with the head coach in his office is especially influential in the student-athlete's decision to attend the University.
