SRAM has been an integral part of the computing industry for a very long time now. SRAM has many applications where it is used in CPU register files, CPU cache memory, automotive industry internal applications to name a few. SRAM needs fast performance using as minimum power as possible. This led us to research and study in low power SRAM designing. Near threshold SRAM design helps in consuming as low power as possible in the SRAM and giving the same performance as to a regular powered SRAM. To make this possible it was necessary to reduce the supply voltage and keep the read and write time as low as possible. Further efforts are being made for reducing the voltage consumed by the SRAM by providing faster read and write speeds.
