Abstract/Summary:
This study examines the development and administration of rationing in Britain during World War II. It identifies the key aspects of rationing, the political debate it created, and those it most dearly effected. The study also examines the black market which was born of the public's frustrations with austerity and the decline of their personally set moral standards.
