Homeless older adults are a vulnerable population with a complex set of needs that often go overlooked in emergency shelters. Many seniors are forced to compete with other homeless populations to secure overnight housing and supportive services.;The purpose of this project was to write a grant to fund a shelter program that would create a safe haven for the homeless elderly. The shelter program would provide a safe and stable place for the intensive coordination of services, which would be implemented by a multidisciplinary team. The goal of this program is to improve access to and expand services for homeless older adults. The New Image Emergency Shelter Program is the host agency. The selected funding source was the Archstone Foundation. The actual submission of the grant application was not a requirement for this thesis project. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Homeless, Shelter program, Elderly, Grant | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
