One of the essential elements for the integrity of a structure is influenced by the behavior induced by a seismic excitation. This is governed by the structural dynamic properties and characteristics. With the currently vast construction projects underway in all over the world, the basic need for reliable housing and commercial complexes have become a focal point for every government and private developer.;For every country to be able to effectively use its available natural resources and improve the nation's economy, the need for experts in the field of civil engineering is essential for conducting proper practices in the construction of projects, hence to provide safe and cost effective accommodation and facilities for the people and businesses.;The research focus in this thesis is the introduction and quantification of seismic performance factors of a relatively new structural system, which is composed of a new technology called 3D panel system. This research provides a better and more transparent understanding on the seismic codes used today for designing 3D panel buildings, and whether or not the building codes accurately represent the true and expected behavior of the 3D panel system.;The adaption of 3D panel system by the current codes can be another step towards performance based design of building structures. By implementing and promoting better seismic and building practices, we can enhance the performance of the structure to save both the wealth and lives of people around the world.
