Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this essay is to introduce a new American school of string playing – the O'Connor Violin Method and to compare it with the Suzuki Violin Method. This essay includes the author's and the method's historical background, analysis of the pieces from the method books and comparison of these two methods in technique and non-technique features. In addition, the essay also shows how to use them effectively in teaching.
