This thesis presents an overview of International Organization for Standardization and International Electro-technical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025. It investigates the obstacles that the Measurement and Quality Assurance Department (M&QA) of the Corporation is likely to encounter when seeking compliance/accreditation status. It also addresses the arguments why the M&QA department should overcome or eliminate such obstacles. This research study explores ways of solving problems that prohibit the M&QA department from achieving full accreditation status. Ultimately, this research study is designed to provide the Corporation with a comprehensive understanding of potential problems and solutions relating to the achievement of full accreditation status under the new standard.
