Abstract/Summary:
Theoretical research on the Evolving Transformation System (ETS) has been conducted for more than a decade. The theoretical formula is expected to be verified and to be adjusted by real examples. It is timely to conduct experimental studies on the theoretical ETS model. Because the generating process is radically different from previous models, an analysis should focus on its behavior. The flower color build-up process is in many respects analogous to the ETS generating process. Thus, this thesis develops a tool to simulate the flower color build-up process and thereby to study the ETS generating process. To ensure that this tool is widely understood, the mathematical formalism of the ETS model is explained in non-mathematical form. This includes a detailed explanation of the generating process as the mechanism to unfold the class description of the ETS model.; The concept of typicality is important in understanding the generating process. The visualization tool developed in this thesis, is used to perform a study on the generating process and its typicality. The study results outline the behavior of the generating process, as well as the strength and characteristics of the current typicality definition.
