| We have developed and implemented a computational method for analyzing the distribution and collision potential of objects in earth orbit. We have tested the method for several trial orbits against the space object database maintained by the United States Space Command. We have displayed the time-averaged density of these objects within three different altitude bands in low Earth orbit, generated collision probability estimates, and made predictions as to where a collision event is most likely to occur. |
