Abstract/Summary:
This thesis examines the federalist and separatist sentiments of Quebec nationalism, for which the former is typified by the Quebec Liberal Party, and the latter, by the Parti Quebecois.; Through this examination, the author determines that because federalists and separatists differ not only in terms of their reading of the historical and contemporary record (evidence), but also in regards to their opinions about future prospects (assumptions), they advocate different solutions to assist the Quebecois in realizing their identity as a nation.
