Abstract/Summary:
This study was an attempt to determine the role of the Vocational Agriculture Teacher as perceived by two professional groups of agricultural education: Vocational Agriculture Teachers from the Agricultural Education Program of the Department of Public Instruction of Puerto Rico and members of the academic staff of the Department of Agricultural Education of the College of Agricultural Sciences at the Mayaguez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.;The knowledge of the concepts related to the role of the Vocational Agriculture Teacher, for those who prepare them and for the teachers themselves, can provide them with a broader set of possibilities to execute their functions in the proper manner.;The procedure used in this study was that of the survey, using the technique of the questionnaire which included ten areas of responsibility that included 72 activities. The questionnaire was administered to six members of the academic staff of the Department of Agricultural Education and to 20 Vocational Agriculture teachers involved in Vocational Agriculture teaching throughout Puerto Rico.
