This two-part study used surveys to investigate the proliferation of online courses in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising (ATM) being offered nationally. In addition, the study was done to determine whether ATM students were interested in taking online courses and how this interest was related to computer attitudes, learning preferences, and computer access. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between student interest in online courses and computer attitudes, access to computers at home, and student learning preferences. Nationally, a small percentage (10%) of universities with ATM-related programs have offered online courses. Approximately 50% of the programs have plans for online courses over the next five years.
