his study examined factors that affect physical activity participation in a convenience sample of 108 older adults, (age range 62-91) who were members al a senior centre or fitness centre. The univariate, bivariate and multivariate relationships between the dependent variable (activity status) and certain demographic, behavioural, physical and perceptual independent variables were explored. The subjects were asked to fill out a sociodemographic, health and physical activity related questionnaire developed by the researcher, as well as the Exercise Benefits Barriers Scale (Sechrist et al., 1987).
