In recent years, the lack of physical activity of college students has been a global consensus.Improving college students' physical activity is an important public health measure.During the period from high school to college, physical activity and physical fitness tended to decline. There are differences in the physical activities of students in different majors.Physical education colleges have special characteristics and are divided into technical and discipline majors. They can investigate both physical education students and non-sports students. The built environment can affect people's physical activity,so explore the impact of different environments on the physical activity of the freshmen in the institute. The purpose of this article is to explore the physical activity levels of freshmen in sports colleges in different built environments, and the differences in physical activities of science and technology departments.Research methods:This study uses the literature method, questionnaire survey method, and data analysis method.A total of 910 freshman students from Shanghai Institute of Physical Education were selected, and the simplified human habitat environment walkability scale and the international physical activity scale were used to measure the perceived built environment and physical activity of their families and campuses. After data screening, there were 677 valid samples(315 boys and 362 girls). An independent sample T-test was used to analyze the differences in physical activity and perceived built environment among freshmen of different genders and specialty. The paired sample T test was used to analyze the differences in physical activity of the freshmen in the sports school in different environments and the difference in perception of different built environments. After that, the average time of Moderate To Vigorous Physical Activity(MVPA)and leisure-Moderate To Vigorous Physical Activity(L-MVPA)of the effective samples was based on the two percentile points of 33 and 66.Three levels are divided and assigned values of 1,2 and 3 as independent variables. The sociodemographic variables of gender, profession, and parental education are used as control variables in the ordered multi-class Logistic regression model. Finally, the main environmental factors affecting the physical activity of the new students in the physical education institute are analyzed.Research results: There are significant differences in MVPA and L-MVPA of freshmen of different genders and professions in the home and campus environments(P <0.01).There were significant differences between MVPA and L-MVPA in home environment and school environment(P <0.01).After analysis,it is found that the estimated coefficient ? of the grade change of the dependent variable MVPA is 1.112,p = 0.033 and 1.062,and p = 0.004 for each increase in the aesthetic appearance and traffic safety of the home environment. The home built environment has no significant effect on the physical activity of freshmen in the technical department, but for each increase in the building density and road smoothness, and the aesthetic appearance of the subject in the home environment, the estimated coefficient ? of the graded change of the dependent variable MVPA is 1.054,p = 0.007,0.932,p = 0.003 and 1.183,p = 0.001.For each increase in aesthetics and public security in the school environment, the estimated coefficient ? of the grade change of the dependent variable MVPA is 1.101,p = 0.041 and 0.926,p = 0.027,respectively.Among them, the freshmen of technical subjects in the campus environment perceive that the road is smooth and that the public order safety increases by 1.The estimated coefficient ? of the grade change of the dependent variable MVPA is 1.1.02,p = 0.032,and 0.809,p = 0.036;For each increase of building density and building aesthetics in the environment, the estimated coefficient ? of the grade change of the dependent variable MVPA is 1.061,p = 0.015,and 1.120,p = 0.036,respectively.The conclusions of the study are as follows: 1.The MVPA of freshmen in sports institutes is higher than that recommended by the World Health Organization. The MVPA and L-MVPA of boys and technical students are greater than the MVPA and L-MVPA of girls and subject students.2.The MVPA and LMVPA of the freshmen in the sports school in the home environment are higher than the campus environment.3.The beautiful buildings and increased traffic safety around the home environment help to improve the daily MVPA activities of the freshmen in the sports school.4.The beautiful buildings around the campus environment and the increase in public security help to improve the daily MVPA activity of freshmen in the sports institute.
