Abstract/Summary:
This experiment reports the study of surface property of membrane in order to determine the work of adhesion required to detach a droplet of Humic acid solution from the surface. The surface utilized as a part of this trial is NF-90 membrane. We have carried out this experiment using Centrifugal Adhesion Balance (CAB). Here, we are only considering normal force and other forces were canceled to calculate the force required to pull-off a drop from the surface. We have used various sizes of droplets to compare the properties of the surface. Also, here we have utilized greater sizes of droplets because of adsorption property of the surface, so, we can haul out the drop from the surface. We have used 20, 25, 30 mL of droplets for the experiment. The study was to determine the work of adhesion on NF-90 membrane and results developed during the experiment are shown in graphs.
