Abstract/Summary:
This work will examine the call from God to serve the least, last and lost by feeding the mind, body and spirit, and compare these needs and solutions with the works of historical and modern theologians and Scripture. The imperial church will contribute through the desert fathers, the Great Awakening through John Wesley and post-modernity through theologians James Cone, Ray Bakke and Jon Sobrino. This work will reflect how the ministry requires a holistic approach fulfilling the needs of the mind, body and spirit. The church and all members of the Body of Christ have been called to tend to the poor and stop oppression; this work will show that feeding the mind, body and spirit is a call to social justice that follows the commands set forth in Scripture.
