Abstract/Summary:
Parent-adolescent communication regarding sexuality is a sensitive and difficult topic for both parties. Parents play a significant role in shaping their child's behavior in every area, in addition to influencing their sexual beliefs, values, and morals. The purpose of this paper is to provide counselors as well as other mental health clinicians with an intervention to close the gap between parents and adolescents regarding sexual communication. The intervention provides a safe place for parents and adolescents to explore challenges, feelings and emotions about sexual issues and activity.
