With the reform of the economic system, the important economic functions and values contained in sports have been tapped, and sports economy is playing an increasingly important role in the national economy.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the leadership with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has proposed building a strong sports nation as a major livelihood cause. In 2016,the State Sports General Administration proposed the "13th Five-Year Plan" for the development of the sports industry.By 2020,the total size of China’s sports industry should exceed 3 trillion yuan, raising the building of a sports power to a strategic level. This year is the ending year of the 13 th Five-Year Plan. With the promotion of international status, with the Beijing Olympics as a breakthrough point, more and more sports events are held in China, which promotes the growth of sports economy, promotes Chinese culture, and lays the foundation for the globalization of sports economy, sports is bound to become a new driving force for economic growth. However, compared with developed countries,China’s sports economic development is in its infancy and there are many problems, such as sports economy accounts for a small proportion of the national economy;the uneven distribution of sports resources such as capital, technology and labor, lack of sound regulations and professional sports talents, these have led to imbalances in regional development and great differences in sports economy across provinces. These problems are not conducive to the stable and healthy development of China’s sports economy. Therefore,it is necessary to carry out a detailed study on the regional differences in China’s sports economic investment, assess the strength of financial investment in each region, propose a reasonable resource allocation plan, and improve limited resource utilization. This article selects the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2001 to 2018 as the research object.First, descriptive statistical analysis is made.In terms of time, sports economic investment in China’s provinces has been fluctuating and affected by major sports events, but the overall trend is increasing. The fastest growing region is the western region, and the slowest growing region is the eastern developed region. The larger the base of sports investment, the lower the growth rate, and the growth rate is restricted by the regional economic level. From the annual growth rate,it can be found that the level of sports economic investment in China lacks stability. After eliminating the impact of price changes,it is found that the growth rate of most years has decreased, indicating that the level of residents ’consumption may be one of the factors affecting sports economic investment. From a spatial point of view,China’s sports economic investment level shows a clear agglomeration phenomenon. After more than ten years of development, the phenomenon of the most developed areas in East China and the weakest in Northwest China has been shown, and the less developed areas have shifted from the south to the middle, which shows that the level of sports economic investment is closely related to the level of economic development. It is found from the global autocorrelation analysis that China’s sports economic investment has shown significant spatial positive correlation in the past ten years. From the local autocorrelation analysis,it is found that the form of H-H spatial agglomeration is gradually increasing, mostly in the eastern developed areas, and the level of sports economic investment in China is gradually increasing. However, most regions of China still present L-L agglomeration forms, mostly in remote and backward areas in the west, indicating that the level of sports economic investment is affected by regional economic levels, and regional development is uneven and regional differences are large. Then selected seven indicators such as regional GDP and population for modeling, based on cross-sectional data and panel data. The results show that there is a positive correlation between regional GDP,per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents, education level and sports economic investment. That is to say,the higher the regional GDP is,the higher the per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents is,and the higher the education level is,the higher the sports economic input level is.The registered urban unemployment rate has a negative correlation with sports economic investment. The higher the unemployment rate, the lower the level of sports economic investment.According to the research conclusion of the difference and influencing factors of sports economic investment in China, this article puts forward relevant suggestions from five aspects: national policy, spatial linkage, sports event radiation, improving the level of education and the two-way influence relationship between sports and employment, hoping to provide valuable reference for China’s sports economic development.
