| It is an indisputable fact that global climate change plays an important role in cotton production, especially in extreme weather. In order to better develop cotton production and maximize benefits, cotton farmers will take certain adjustment actions to make up for the impact of climate change on cotton production. If the cotton farmers can not have a clear perception of climate change, and take improper production adjustment behavior,it will affect the yield and quality of cotton production to a certain extent, make it difficult for cotton farmers to increase income, and then affect the enthusiasm of cotton planting and the safety of cotton industry. Therefore,it is necessary for cotton farmers to adjust cotton production behavior according to climate change to promote the healthy development of China’s cotton industry It’s a big problem. So what is cotton farmers’ perception of climate change? How well do cotton farmers understand the impact of climate change on cotton production? In order to overcome the impact of climate change on cotton production, which cotton production adjustment behaviors will cotton farmers take? What is the priority of cotton farmers’ adjustment behavior in cotton production? What factors will affect cotton farmers’ production adjustment behavior? Obviously, the in-depth study of these problems will help to understand the adjustment behavior of cotton farmers and its influencing factors under the background of climate change,so as to provide theoretical basis for improving the production efficiency and safety of cotton industry,so as to promote the sustainable development of China’s cotton industry.Based on the literature review of climate change, the impact of climate change on cotton production, and cotton farmers’ cotton production behavior, this paper comprehensively grasps cotton farmers’ perception of climate change, their understanding of the impact of climate change on cotton, and their cotton production adjustment behavior, and gives priority to adjustment behavior The qualitative analysis is carried out.Thirdly, based on the above analysis, four main adjustment behaviors were selected to explore the key influencing factors of cotton farmers’ adjustment behavior selection in different stages of cotton production. The main conclusions are as follows.(1)Cotton farmers’ perception of climate change is different and their information lags behind.Since1980,the annual average temperature and the four seasons temperature in the study area have shown an increasing trend, the average annual precipitation has also shown a slow increasing trend, and the sunshine has also shown a gradual increasing trend. At the same time, whether in fact or in the subjective perception of farmers, climate change has indeed brought a great impact on the production and life of farmers. In the content of climate change, farmers’ perception of precipitation change is stronger and more accurate, but there is a big deviation in the perception of sunshine, and the difference between individuals is obvious.Cotton farmers’ perception of climate change almost always occurs after the implementation, especially the extreme weather changes, often in fact has begun to occur, cotton farmers react to this and then produce adaptive behavior.Cotton farmers’ perception of climate change is almost always after the fact, especially the change of extreme weather, often after the fact has begun to happen, cotton farmers react to it and then produce adaptive behavior.(2)From the analysis results of cotton farmers’ production adjustment behavior, adjusting the amount and frequency of water and fertilizer is the most frequent adjustment behavior in the first place, adjusting the amount and frequency of pesticide in the second place, and adjusting the picking time and method in the third place. The fourth is to adjust cotton varieties, and the fifth is to adjust the proportion of labor and capital investment. The comprehensive score and priority of each adjustment behavior were obtained by using the method of multiplication and addition. The order was to adjust the amount and frequency of water and fertilizer, the time and amount of pesticide, the picking method and time, the cotton varieties, the labor and capital investment ratio, the insurance intensity and the planting area.(3)From the perspective of influencing factors of cotton farmers’ production adjustment behavior,Party member status, health status,non-agricultural employment experience, years of planting cotton, and the necessity of adopting adjustment behavior have a significant impact on cotton production adjustment behavior(changing cotton varieties);health status, education level, participating in professional training of cotton planting, and taking the initiative Attention to weather, cotton planting years, annual household income and the degree of understanding of the impact of climate change on cotton production have a significant impact on the adjustment behavior(adjusting the amount of water and fertilizer input, time and the amount and frequency of pesticide input)in the bud stage of cotton production;health, participation in cotton planting training, annual income, planting area, the degree of understanding of the impact of climate change on cotton production, and the degree of thinking about cotton harvest The necessity of adaptation behavior, ethnic group, family labor force and the role of company(Village)managers all significantly affected the production adaptation behavior(adjusting cotton picking mode and time)in the mature stage of cotton production. |
