Research On The Construction Of Thematic Map Rendering Framework

In the context of the "explosive" growth of spatial data,thematic maps are an effective way to display the results of spatial analysis,explore spatial information and assist decision-making.The construction of thematic map automatic compilation application can solve the problem of complicated process and low efficiency in the traditional cartography.The construction of automatic mapping applications generally requires the support of a map framework,but the map frameworks or standards used in currently commonly used web map applications are all for general maps,and there is a lack of professional and common map rendering frameworks for the compilation of thematic maps.Therefore,this paper proposes a method of constructing Thematic Map Rendering Framework(TMRF)based on the Mapbox Style Specification,which aims to provide support for the automatic compilation process of thematic maps through the construction of TMRF.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Analyze the currently commonly used map frameworks and the organization and representation methods of thematic maps,and determine the main modules in TMRF,the basic structure of each module,and the overall representation method of the framework;(2)Complete the construction of TMRF,and introduce its structure and construction methods through core modules such as sources,maps,etc.During the construction process,the separation of base maps and thematic layers,the splitting of graphic variables,and the introduction of graphic templates are used to improve the description ability of TMRF and emphasize that it focuses on thematic maps.In addition,this paper also stipulates the interfaces that need to be implemented by the rendering engine based on TMRF;(3)Based on the completed TMRF,the thematic map automatic compilation application was constructed on the Web and the Adobe Illustrator based on the corresponding development interface.Using the base map data and thematic data of Shanghai Putuo District and Changning District as experimental data,automatic mapping experiments were carried out in the application.The construction quality of TMRF is evaluated by the effect of automatic mapping,and the TMRF is compared with the commonly used map framework.Experiments show that TMRF has a good ability to describe various types of thematic maps,and the automatic compilation of thematic maps based on TMRF can effectively improve the efficiency of mapping and draw a variety of complex graphics.However,TMRF still needs to be expanded for more types of thematic maps,and in mapping applications based on TMRF,the automatic construction of map templates,symbol libraries,style libraries and other mapping resources is also a topic that should be studied in the future.
