Analysis On Ideology Of Science And Technology Of Habermas

Habermas' theory of science and technology ideology has a specific social background and theoretical source.The two important characteristics of the late capitalist society are that production is more dependent on science and technology and the increase of state intervention activities,which provides the social basic conditions for science and technology to have ideological function.On the basis of criticizing,drawing lessons from and inheriting Marxist critical thought of science and technology,the tradition of early Frankfurt School on science and technology criticism and ideological criticism,Weber's instrumental rationality and value rationality,Habermas deeply reflected on science and technology,and formed a unique ideological critical thought of science and technology.Secondly,Habermas' theory of science and technology ideology contains three layers of progressive parts.The first part is to define the connotation of science and technology ideology and reveal its function.As a new ideology,science and technology have new characteristics,not only in form no longer have false elements,but also in content has the function of self-defense.Economically,science and technology guarantee the feasibility of contemporary economic model and prove the superiority of contemporary economic model;politically,science and technology rationality becomes the basis of legalization;culturally,science and technology consciousness becomes the guarantee of legitimacy.The second part is to expose the harmfulness of science and technology ideology.Science and technology and science and technology ideology has changed from a way of human control over nature to an important method of human and social management;the social identity of social members has undergone qualitative change,and the control function of social system has failed.The social organization principle is destroyed,the people's desire to be liberated is suppressed.The third part is to construct the concrete path out of the harmfulness of science and technology ideology.There are three specific ways to overcome the ideology of science and technology: to develop the rationality of communication from the inside of reason,to use rational reflection to explain the society critically,and to establish effective and universally recognized behavior norms through negotiation ethics.Finally,based on the deep analysis of Habermas' ideology of science and technology,this paper makes a comprehensive evaluation of Habermas' ideology of science and technology by using the basic principles of historical materialism.The value of Habermas' theory of science and technology ideology lies in not only responding positively to contemporary science and technology problems,but also enriching Marxist ideological theory.But Habermas' s theory still has some limitations.Science and technology as a carrier will inevitably reflect the function of ideology,but Habermas equates it with ideology itself.In addition,Habermas exaggerated the role of language and ethics,trying to solve the ills of late capitalism with the reform of superstructure rather than the improvement of productivity.Therefore,Habermas' theory of science and technology ideology has a strong utopian color.
