Novel fluorocabon water-and oil-proof agents were researched with perfluorononene and hexafluoropropene oxide trimer(HFPO)3 in order to replace perfluorooctane sulfonate/ester and its derivatives.Fluorinated monomers ? and ? were synthesized from perfluorononene, allyl alcohol, allyl chloride and p-hydroxymethylphenol.Fluorinated monomer ? was synthesized from(HFPO)3 and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate.Synthesis of those three polymers were optimized, and their structures were characterized. The reaction yield of these three monomers are 86.0%,63.5%and 85.0%respectively.Fluorinated-copolymer latex(water-and oil-proof agents ?,? and ?)with blue-fluorescence were prepared by semicontinuous emulsion polymerization from butyl acrylate(BA),methyl methacrylate(MMA)and fluorinated monomers.Structures and properties of the copolymers were characterized by FTIR,contact angle measurement, differential scanning calorimetry and thermo-gravimetric analysis respectively. The influence of functional monomer N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide on hydrophobicity of the emulsion was studied. Results show that the hydrophobicity, glass transition temperature and thermal stability of the polymer are improved when the fluorinated monomer is introduced. And the optimum added amount of N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide is 2.0%.The water-and oil-repellent performances of cottons dealed with these fluorinated water-and oil-proof agents were investigated. It was found that the highest water proof level of the cotton was two,and oil repellency was not significant.
