Urban Public Traffic Safety And Crime Prevention Design Research

Nowadays it is advocated that we should go green when it comes to travel.Public transport has become one of the main means that most people choose when traveling.But because public transports have to cove a long way and there are a lot of people getting on and off the public vehicles,they have become one of the places where crimes often happen.This essay aims to do some research into how to prevent crimes from happening on public transport vehicles.It is based on Situational Crime Prevention.In this essay I have deeply analysed the elements that crimes on public transports have,including the people who commit crimes,their victims and the environment.Faced with the rational crimes in public transport systems,I have explored the crime characteristics and also put forward Crime Decision-prevention Strategy,Chance Control-prevention Strategy and Space Time Correlation-prevention Strategy.On this basis I have built the crime-prevention design framework in the specific environment in cities public transport systems.And I have also raised the principle and methods to prevent crimes in cities public transport systems.Finally on the basis of the research and analyses of safety and crimes on Xian's pubic vehicles,the design framework and methods of crime-prevention on cities public transport vehicles mentioned in this essay,I have made some directions for designing practical activities in a certain public transport route in Xian in the aim of crime-prevention.I have also tested the research resultswith living examples and put forward my opinions and solutions to the practice and application of situational prevention theory in public transport.I think this essay is of theoretical value and practical significance to the safety designs in public transport systems.
