In the context of the great depression of the steel industry,saving costs has been became very important,reduce the cost of production is the survival of the enterprise.In the LF furnace,the brittle Al2O3 inclusions will be produced,in order to remove these inclusions,prevent contusion when the continuous casting,generally feed calcium line for processing methods.Because the chemical nature of calcium is lively and other reasons for the production conditions,the yield of calcium has not been high.In order to improve the yield of calcium in LF furnace,we try to study the behavior of calcium from thermodynamics and dynamics,and combine the actual production process of Ma Steel LF furnace to carry out technical upgrades,to increase the yield of calcium and reduce the cost of production.Combined theoretical analysis and field experiment,the main conclusions are as follows.(1)The requirement of[Ca]for the desired target product(as C12A7)after calcium addition is increased with increasing[Al]content,If there are higher content of[S]in the molten steel after calcium feeding,it will be easier to produce Ca S inclusions from combining with[Ca],With the steel temperature decreased,under the sulfur content of the same conditions,the need of calcium to form Ca S inclusions is significantly reduced.(2)When the other conditions are the same or similar,if the amount of[S]in the steel is decreased,the yield of the calcium feeder will be increased accordingly.By reducing the amount of[S]before feeding calcium line,the calcium yield of SPHC has been increased 4%,the calcium yield of SPA-H has been increased 2%.(3)When feed the solid calcium line to SPHC,the best feed speed is 1.7m/s,and the calcium yield is 25.5%,When feed the solid calcium line to SPA-H,the best feed speed is 1.6m/s,and the calcium yield is 21.9%(4)When feed two kinds of calcium with 1.7m/s speed to SPHC,the average yield of seamless pure calcium line was 34.4%,it is higher 10%than the yield of pure calcium,and the average yield of seamless pure calcium line in SPA-H was 28.1%,it is higher 7%than the yield of pure calcium.(5)When feed the seamless pure calcium line to SPHC,the best feed speed is1.6m/s,and the calcium yield is 36.1%,When feed the seamless pure calcium line to SPA-H,the best feed speed is 1.5m/s,and the calcium yield is 28.8%.
