Poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid)(EAA)is a class of polymer materials with excellent toughness, chemical solvent resistance and film forming properties.Rare earth ions have a very wide range of applications in the field of luminescent materials. In this thesis, three kinds of luminescent poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid)films were prepared by surface grafting, bonding and doping methods, and their properties were investigated. In the scheme of surface grafting method, the europium complexes and terbium complexes with amino groups were prepared, and then the fluorescent EAA films were synthesized by amidation reaction with acid chloride-modified EAA films.Elemental analysis,Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction verify the successful preparation of the lanthanide complexes and the luminescent EAA films.Fluorescence test results show that the two fluorescent EAA films exhibit characteristic emission of Eu3+and Tb3+,respectively.They both possess high emission intensity, and their decay time belongs to the millisecond level. The initial decomposition temperature(Td)of the two fluorescent EAA films are both greater than 400?.The hydrophilicity of the luminescent EAA films also increased. In the scheme of bonding method, binary and ternary rare earth complexes were produced by europium ions,EAA and different second ligands.A series of binary and ternary complexes of different ratios were prepared by changing the molar ratio of EAA to Eu3+.Elemental analysis,Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction verify the successful preparation of the binary and ternary rare earth complexes. The photoluminescence test results show that the binary and ternary complexes have largest fluorescence intensity when the molar ratio of EAA to Eu3+was 5:1.Meanwhile,Eu-(EAA)5-TTA possesses the highest fluorescence intensity among all samples.Their decay time belongs to the millisecond level. The Td of the binary and ternary fluorescent EAA films are both larger than 300?.In the scheme of doping method, the europium complexes and terbium complexes were produced respectively.A series of luminescent EAA films were prepared by changing the amount of complexes.Elemental analysis,Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction verify the successful preparation of complexes and doped luminescent EAA films. The photoluminescence test results show that two kinds of fluorescent EAA films exhibit characteristic emission of Eu3+and Tb3+,respectively.When the doping ratio is 1.5%,the fluorescence intensity reaches the maximum, and their decay time belongs to the millisecond level. The Td of two kinds of fluorescent EAA films are both around 350?.With the addition of the rare earth complexes, the hydrophilicity of the EAA film is slightly reduced.
