Spiral bevel gears are widely used in many industries such as aerospace,shipbuilding,engineering and mining machinery to transmit the speed and power between intersecting shafts.As the main parts of mechanical equipment,they have a direct impact on its performance.At present,the spiral bevel gears still use the traditional cutting technology,the material utilization rate is not high,and the metal streamline formed by forging the gear blank is cut off so that the fatigue strength is reduced.Therefore,a new processing method is urgently needed to improve the fatigue bearing capacity of spiral bevel gears.Based on the theoretical analysis,numerical simulation and experimental research,this paper studies the forming defects and the law of metal streamline deformation in the hot rolling process of the pinion wheel blank of spiral bevel gear,The main research contents are as follows:1)The numerical simulation model of the hot rolling of the pinion wheel blank of the spiral bevel gear is established,and the numerical analysis of the small wheel rolling process is carried out.The equivalent stress field and strain field distribution in different forming stages are obtained,and the influence law of the normal force of the tooth surface and the tooth top and the friction force of the tooth surface on the forming defects in the hot rolling process is explored.2)Based on the analysis of the evolution process and causes of tooth profile forming defects by DEFORM-3D finite element analysis software,the orthogonal test method is used to optimize the key process parameters such as blooming temperature,lubrication state,die feed speed and wheel billet speed which determines the combination of rolling process parameters and provides a feasible method for suppressing forming defects.3)Study on the deformation law of metal streamline in different process and different forming stage.The influence mechanism of processing parameters such as blooming temperature,lubricant addition,wheel speed and die feed speed on metal streamline was explored.The reasonable process parameters were determined by orthogonal test.4)A rolling test-bed was built to test and verify the optimal process parameters to obtain a good metal flow line.The internal structure of the gear teeth after hot rolling was observed with an electron microscope,the morphology characteristics of the metal flow line were observed,the distribution law of the metal flow lines in different parts was studied,and the consistency between the test results and the numerical simulation results was verified.
