Pipe-bending machines are crucial for making curved pipes of various forms and functions.As society and the economy develop,the quality requirements for curved pipes are increasing in all aspects.However,when a conventional pipe-bending machine bends a pipe,uneven wall thickness,wrinkles,and even cracking in the bent section of the pipe can easily occur.Therefore,developing a new type of pipe-bending machine is necessary.When a pipe is bent,the auxiliary thrust of the tail is closely related to the pipe's final formation quality.Therefore,this study designed a set of booster bending forming systems based on the conventional pipe-bending machine and conducted in-depth research on its performance.First,the operation conditions for the booster bending forming mechanism were studied,and the design of each component was discussed on the basis of the required functions;optimization was then performed.By integrating the various schematics to form the overall final booster bending structure and carefully analyzing the design and selection of some key components,the design method and selection parameters were determined.Next,the detailed structure of the booster bending forming mechanism was designed.On the basis of material and theoretical mechanics,detailed tests for aspects,including strength,stiffness,and fatigue,of the key components were performed.Finite element analysis based on Abaqus was performed on the components with complex stress.On the basis of a numerical analysis,key parts were optimized and improved.A verified three-dimensional structure of the booster bending forming mechanism was drawn,and the processing technology of the key components was thoroughly analyzed.Additionally,Based on the functions of the designed booster bending forming system in the process of bending and forming,according to the control schematic of electronic control system of industrial computer,regarding the self-use parameters of the pipe-bending machine to select all the electronic control components,and a booster bending system electrical control box was designed.Finally,an experimental study was conducted on the designed booster bending forming system.In a comparative test,two sets of identical round pipes were bent by a pipe-bending machine;one set with the booster bending forming system and one set a conventional machine.The wall thickness reduction rates and final shape of the bent pipes were analyzed to verify that the booster bending forming system influenced the bending quality of the pipe.Through the finite element analysis of tube-bending process,the effect of the booster bending system was reconfirmed,A numerical analytic method that can effectively simulate tube bending forming process with a booster bending system was obtained.
