The Study Of Titled Madams’ Costumes In Ming Dynasty

The Ming Dynasty(AD 1368-1644)was in a special historical period.After Zhu Yuanzhang expelled Mongolian rule,he established the Ming Empire.The "garment hierarchy"is the basic content of "Yi Li Zhi Guo"(ruling the state with proprieties and ceremonies)and the important part of titled madams’ costumes in Ming Dynasty.The Ming Dynasty has been established for more than 270 years,and the culture of costumes had a distinctive era and uniqueness,so the titled madams’ costumes were rich and diverse,which reflected a strict hierarchy.This article uses the Ming dynasty as the research background and analyzes dress code,clothing category,and clothing style characteristics of titled madam in a hierarchical order by the means of the existing costumes in the tombs are combined with archeological reports,handed down paintings,and documentation.This article takes the Ming dynasty woman’s uniform style as the research object,sorts out more than 50 sitting tombs in the Ming dynasty,sorts out 31 portraits passed down,and analyzes the styling language of the maiden clothing.First of all,the data of Ming maids’ regular clothes was sorted out to determine the dress code of Ming maids of different grades.Secondly,a large amount of literature and clothing objects were sorted out to summarize the category characteristics of Mingwife clothes.Regularly sort out the local modeling features of Mingwife’s regular clothes in Ming Dynasty,and summarize the local modeling and evolution features of Mingwo’s regular clothes.In the end,some elements of Ming Dynasty’s Mingfu Changfu were extracted and applied to modern clothing design.
