For the research of the correlation between mechanical properties and surface energy of gun propellants,the single-hole tubular nitroamine gun propellants with three-arm polyethylene glycol/tetrahydrofuran(3B-PEG/THF)block star copolymer and polyethylene glycol methacrylate diester as toughening agent were used as the main raw materials,respectively.As well as add solid filler RDX(RDX)content of different tubular specimen of nitramine gun propellant,with the pendulum impact tester and the drop hammer impact tester separately to each of the gun propellant sample radial and axial impact strength with mechanics performance test,using contact Angle measurement instrument for gun propellant sample of radial and axial surface can be tested.The research results are as follows:(1)When testing the contact Angle of the axial and radial test surfaces of the gun propellant sample,it is appropriate to take 0.6?l for the test droplet.When the measurement time is 8?10s,the surface energy of the gun propellant sample obtained by LW-AB method is better than that obtained by Owen-Wendt-Kaelble method.(2)In the process of preparing propellant by extrusion molding,the macromolecular chain in the gun propellant sample has partial orientation along the pressing direction,which makes the axial and radial surface energy of the gun propellant sample different from the impact strength test results.(3)The test results of surface energy and impact strength of gun propellant samples containing star 3B-PEG/THF copolymer and polyethylene glycol methacrylate showed that when adding 1%,2%and 3%of 3B-PEG/THF copolymer and polyethylene glycol methacrylate at 20?,compared with the contrast samples without the addition of toughening agent,The radial and axial surface energies of the gun propellant specimen increase,and the impact strength increases.When 1%,2%and 3%3B-PEG/THF copolymer and PEG methacrylate were added,the axial and radial surface energies of the gun propellant samples were positively correlated with the impact strength.(4)containing solid filler RDX gun propellant sample surface energy and impact strength test results show that under the condition of 20? 20%,25%,30%,solid filler RDX,compared with the contrast sample did not add RDX,gun propellant sample can reduce the radial and axial surface,the radial impact strength decreases,and the axial impact strength increases,By adding 20%,2 5%and 30%RDX,the correlation between impact strength and surface energy of gun propellant sample could not be obtained.
