Innovative Application Of Traditional Chinese "Wu Du" Pattern In Modern Fashion Design

Chinese traditional auspicious patterns come from the folk art,which gathers the wisdom of the masses and contains the national culture of our country.The auspicious pattern represents the ancient Chinese people's pursuit of a better and happy life and their expectation of a smooth life.The existence of auspicious patterns is closely combined with people's life,to a certain extent,it contains the spirit of the Chinese nation's optimistic struggle,and has a subtle impact on people's aesthetic.In modern fashion design,designers at home and abroad pay more and more attention to cultural genes,which leads to more attention to traditional patterns.Designers begin to look for elements and patterns with national brand in the local area for innovation.They do not only focus on the artistic aesthetics of patterns and costumes,but also incline to the cultural connotation to meet the diversity of modern people's aesthetic.With the attention paid to the national traditional culture,more and more designers know the Chinese traditional auspicious patterns.As one of the folk auspicious patterns,the “Wu Du” pattern is also a special kind of minority.“Wu Du” itself is not an auspicious species,on the contrary,it is something that people fear and fear in real life,but it is placed with auspicious implication.“Wu Du” culture occupies a special position and symbol in the history of folk art in China.Modern designers can apply the “Wu Du” pattern to modern clothing through innovative design,increase the cultural heritage of the work,at the same time,make the traditional pattern return to people's vision,glow a new luster,and protect and inherit the “Wu Du” culture.In this paper,the traditional “Wu Du” patterns are taken as the research object,and many research methods,such as literature research,comparative experimental analysis,comprehensive multidisciplinary combination,are used to study the background origin and moral connotation of “Wu Du” patterns,and further draw the pattern characteristics,color characteristics and composition characteristics of “Wu Du” patterns.The experiment analyzes the design techniques of deformation and dislocation,concrete and abstract in the pattern,the whole and part in the shape,the possibility of increasing other elements,and the collision between the traditional and modern in the technological means.In this graduation design,the pattern adopts the abstract reorganization method,retains the “Wu Du” pattern and expects the auspicious implication,uses the natural shape characteristics of the f“Wu Du” patterns in the clothing style,uses the black,red and white contrast in the color,and uses the digital printing in the technology to apply in the modern clothing.This paper summarizes the application of traditional “Wu Du” patterns in modern clothing,and looks forward to the future of traditional patterns in modern clothing.I hope that with the help of discussion and practice,people will pay attention to the traditional “Wu Du” patterns and feel the unique charm of the traditional culture of the nation.
