MRO Material Inventory Management Optimization Research Based On Projrct A

With the development of times and the lean management in the social production,the traditional inventory management method already can't meet the demands of the enterprises' development,more and more enterprises start to be aware that upgrading and optimizing inventory management is a new source of effective savings in corporate management and production cost and profitability.The inventory management of MRO(Maintenance Repair Operations)materials is characterized by the variety,small batches,and unstable demand,which makes the inventory management of MRO materials more difficult.The material management of the oil and gas industry is mainly about the inventory management of the MRO materials,but due to the complicated technical standards,high value of material,high investment in the production and operation of oil and gas industry,which makes the MRO inventory management is different from the one in the traditional manufacturing industry.First of all,this paper introduces relevant theories of inventory and inventory management,inventory classification method,the common inventory control strategy,MRO materials theories to summarize the particularity and significance of MRO material management in the oil and gas industry.Then introduces the project A,the MRO materials of project A,the MRO materials inventory management of project A,and concludes the main inventory management problems of project A are lack of effective inventory control strategy and the inventory control implementation is not effective enough.After that,this paper analyzes the factors that affect project A's inventory management and clears up the optimization plan logic.Then compares the common ABC classification method,EOQ model,order points model with project A's actual situation,meanwhile considering the characters of MRO materials in oil and gas industry and the situation of project A,concludes the most suitable inventory control model for project A.Also proposes the usage prediction formula by considering the facility failure percentage,sock out percentage and the required service level.Then proposes the decision-making logic of the combination usage of(Q,R)and(t,R,S)strategy,also proposes by using the VMI,adding the supplier performance review to improve the inventory control implementation.At the end,makes the comments and analyzes the results of the inventory management optimization.This paper will take the MRO material inventory management optimization of Project A as an example to conduct research and analysis on MRO material inventory management.By studying on the formulation and implementation of inventory management optimization plan and the results of project A,this paper aims to provide some reference for MRO material inventory management in the oil and gas industry.
