Research On China's Steel Industry Global Value Chain Status And Its Influencing Factors

With the deepening of the international division of labor,the global value chain covers multiple links such as product R&D and design,raw material supply,intermediate product trade,and final product sales and services.Since the reform and opening up,China's steel industry has become the world's largest country in steel production for more than ten consecutive years.The steel industry involves a wide range of industries,has a long industrial chain,and has a great impact on economic consumption.It is a country's basic and pillar type industry.From the perspective of product innovation,there is still a certain gap between the independent innovation capability of China's steel industry and the advanced level of foreign countries,and the benefits of industrial development are still relatively low.The problem of overcapacity in the steel industry still needs to be resolved.Secondly,China's steel industry is in the low-end lock-in position in the international division of labor,and the proportion of export value added needs to be increased.Therefore,research on the rising status of China's steel industry in the global value chain is conducive to problems such as low added value of products,overcapacity,and insufficient supply of high-end products.It will enhance the competitiveness of China's steel industry in the international market and escape the low end of the value chain.Lock the trap.This article first measures my country's steel industry global value chain status index and global value chain participation index from 2000 to 2017,and ranks the indexes to understand the degree and level of participation of China's steel industry in the international division of labor.It is found that although my country is a big country in iron and steel,there is a big but not strong situation.The status of the value chain and the level of participation are in the middle and lower reaches,indicating that there is a problem of unreasonable structural development of my country's iron and steel industry.Secondly,an empirical analysis of the factors affecting the status of China's steel industry in the global value chain found that the export scale and the status of the steel industry in the global value chain show a significant positive correlation,while the number of intellectual property rights,foreign investment and the status of the industry's international division of labor show a significant positive correlation.Significantly negative correlation.Finally,from the perspective of technological innovation,industrial upgrading and opening up to the outside world,specific suggestions are made on the rise of the status of China's steel industry in the global value chain.
