The quality and safety inspection of cigarette materials is the basic guarantee of cigarette quality and the residual amount of volatile organic compounds is one of the important testing indicators.Considering the complexity of the production process of the cigarette label gift box and the limitation of the non-uniform detection method for VOCs of the cigarette label gift box, this paper optimizes VOCs detection method for printed matter of cigarette label gift box and finished cigarette package by using the gas Chromatography/mass Spectrometry technology.According to the characteristics of the finished products and cigarette label gift boxes, different sampling areas and sample preparation methods are adopted.Through verification and evaluation, this method can be applied for routine detection and analysis of VOCs in cigarette label gift boxes. Moreover, the raw and auxiliary materials, printing process, and subsequent processing of the cigarette label gift box have different effects on the solvent residue in practical production. This paper takes the Yunyan(Impression Yanzhuang)cigarette label gift box as an example and explores the influence of the raw and auxiliary materials on the VOCs.At the same time, the VOCs content of the finished cigarette label gift box is investigated through the subsequent processing. This can help find ways to reduce VOCs in the finished cigarette label gift box and provide beneficial reference for the VOCs limit control. The main research of this paper are as follows:(1)Optimization design of the detection method.Referring to the detection standard of solvent residues in tobacco industry, based on the actual production characteristics of cigarette label gift box(printed matter and finished product),the VOCs detection method of cigarette label gift box(printed matter and finished product)was established by combining the high selective separation ability of gas chromatography with the auxiliary qualitative screening ability of mass spectrometry.(2)The peak shape of the chromatographic peaks, the resolution of adjacent chromatographic peaks, and the response intensity were used as the basis for evaluating the optimization of instrument parameters. And the headspace sampling conditions and chromatographic separation parameters were also optimized. At the same time, the influence of other factors on the determination of the residual solvent content during the experiment was investigated, and the experiment process was optimized.(3)Evaluation of VOCs detection methods for cigarette label gift boxes. The linear correlation coefficients of VOCs detection methods for cigarette label gift box(printed matter and finished product)were greater than 0.995.The detection limits were0.002?0.363mg/m~2,0.001?0.290mg/m~2,respectively.The quantification limits were0.006?1.212mg/m~2,0.003?0.967mg/m~2,respectively.The recoveries were in the range of 73%?115.8%,and the relative standard deviatons were 0.76%?5.42%.The results showed that the developed method was effective and reliable.(4)The changes in solvent content were studied from the aspects of paper microstructure, paper characteristics, printing process principles, glue, ink and cardboard. This can provide parameter support for the subsequent processing of the finished cigarette label gift box.(5)This paper explored the effects of box mounting glue, box assembly materials, screen mesh number, dehumidification placement treatment and other parameters on the VOCs content of the finished cigarette label gift box.And then,a reasonable follow-up treatment processing was designed to solve the problem of excessive solvent residue in the finished cigarette label gift box.
