Costume,as the second skin of human beings,has the aesthetic characteristics of visualization.It is not only the material demand of human survival,but also the spiritual demand of human survival in the era of civilization.Through clothing,we can analyze the wearer’s cultural quality,aesthetic accomplishment,and even psychological state and personality characteristics.Especially in ancient China’s feudal society,under the management of the ruling class,ancient Chinese clothing had strict hierarchy,so clothing can reflect a person’s status,which is also one of the basis for scholars to judge the dynasty of ancient paintings from the paintings.At the same time,as an independent art discipline,costume has distinctive aesthetic value in its own shape and style.In addition,as the best carrier to record the identity information of characters,the expression of costume plays an extremely important role in the creation of figure painting.The Tang Dynasty,as a prosperous dynasty rarely seen in the ancient history of China,its artistic achievements in the creation of the painting of ladies reached the peak in the history of the creation of the figure painting in ancient China,forming a typical figure image with the unique aesthetic characteristics of the Tang Dynasty.However,the formation of typical images was not achieved overnight.In the three centuries of history under the reign of the Tang Dynasty,the style features of dress expression in the beauty portrait of the Tang Dynasty experienced four periods of evolution.From the early Tang Dynasty,the costume features inherited from the Sui Dynasty gradually developed their own artistic characteristics;from the Tang Dynasty,the style was fully formed;from the middle Tang Dynasty,the typical figure images of the Tang Dynasty were mature;and from this period,the classic and world-renowned Tang Dynasty atmosphere was formed;and finally,to the late Tang Dynasty,the typical fashion of the Tang Dynasty declined.However in this from birth to the prosperity and decline,in the process of traditional Chinese painting techniques and aesthetic characteristics of the expression of clothing has been presented in the development of state,such as behind this progress is the tang dynasty painters constant exploration and accumulation,on this basis,the author tried to analyze from the tang dynasty painter’s representative works of figure painting and the expression of clothing related links and regularity,compiled the expression of clothing for shaping characters,its composition,and even the picture atmosphere build relevant role,for modern and contemporary figure painting creation in some enlightenment about the application of the expression of clothing.
