Polypropylene as a general plastic,the application scope and application field is expanding,but in the process of use there are poor damping effect,noise reduction and shock absorption ability of poor shortcomings,which become a serious problem to hinder the development and application of polypropylene.The loss factor of polypropylene is only 0.05?0.08,and in daily application,only when the loss factor of the material is greater than 0.1,can it play the role of vibration and noise reduction.Based on polypropylene(PP)and elastomer styrene-isoprene-styrene(SIS),through melting blending,the damping modified PP/SIS and filled modified PP/SIS composite materials were prepared.The damping properties,thermal properties,mechanical properties and phase structure of PP/SIS composites were discussed.Firstly,polypropylene was modified with different contents of SIS(0%,25%,50%,75%,100%).The results showed that the damping properties of SIS/PP composites are improved obviously with the increase of the addition amount of SIS,and the loss factor reached 0.12.and the impact strength reached 62.64 KJ/m~2.Secondly,through different types of SIS(S1605,S1611,L609)and different types of SIS blend ratio of polypropylene blend modification,the influence of SIS type,blend ratio and other factors on the performance of SIS/PP composite material was studied.The results showed that when 25 mass portions of S1605 are added,the loss factor was the largest,which was 0.12,and the mechanical properties were the best,the impact strength reached 82.64 k J/m~2.The damping properties of the blend obtained by adding the two SIS blends into polypropylene were better.When the addition ratio of S1605 to S1611 was 1:1,the loss factor of the polypropylene modified material reaches the maximum value of 0.13.Then,five different types of PP(EP300H,PPH-T03,6012,Y38,M60)were selected to blend with SIS,and the influence of different types of PP on the performance of SIS/PP composite material was studied.The results showed that the loss factor of SIS/PPH-T03 is the largest,and the loss factor could reach 0.13 when the vibration frequency was 10Hz,and the damping performance was the best.Finally,fillers with different dosage,types and particle sizes were selected to modify the SIS/PP composites,the effects of fillers on the damping properties of SIS/PP composites were discussed.The results showed that adding fillers can improve the mechanical properties and damping properties of SIS/PP composites.The damping,mechanical and crystallization properties of the composite were the best when 20 mass fraction of filler is added.When calcium carbonate was used as filler,the damping property and impact resistance of the composite were the best.The higher the damping property and the stronger the mechanical property of the composites were with the decrease of the packing particle size.
