At present,most of the textile sizes used by domestic textile enterprises are made of modified starch,polyvinyl alcohol(PVA),polyacrylic acid and so on.Compared with foreign textile enterprises,this traditional textile size has higher viscosity,higher sizing rate,but lower weaving efficiency,and complex size formula,which contains PVA and other refractory substances,causing certain environmental pollution.Based on the relevant research of traditional textile size and new textile size,two kinds of polymers K and XPW which may meet the requirements of new textile size are selected from the market.Through the comparison and analysis of size performance,sizing film performance and sizing performance of traditional size,the better polymer is selected as warp finishing agent(There are some differences between fabric size,so it is called warp finishing agent).Finally,through single factor analysis,the optimal dosage was optimized and its application performance was analyzed.Compared with XPW,warp finishing agent K has higher sizing film strength,lower elongation at break and lower work at break.After sizing pure cotton 40S yarn with K,due to higher moisture regain of the sizing yard,moisture absorption and yarn adhesion will occur.The wear resistance and hairiness index of sizing yarn will be greatly affected,and air humidity and storage time will affect sizing performance.As a result,the quality stability of sizing yarn is poor,which fails to meet the weaving requirements.Compared with the traditional size,XPW has a better performance,XPW has lower viscosity,better viscosity stability and higher adhesion to cotton fiber;XPW has lower water absorption,which can prevent moisture absorption and re adhesion;its elongation at break is about 22 times of that of traditional size film,its work at break is about 7 times of that of traditional size film,and its elasticity is better than that of traditional size film;XPW has lower sizing rate,lower hairiness index and better sizing strength and elongation and wear resistance can meet the weaving requirements,breaking work is large,sizing elasticity is good.Therefore,water-based polymer XPW is more suitable as a new warp finishing agent than polymer K.The amount of XPW was optimized.The experimental results showed that with the increase of XPW,the moisture regain of sizing changed irregularly,and the sizing rate,tensile strength,hairiness reduction rate,wear resistance and fracture work increased continuously.When the amount of XPW exceeded 10%,the increase of tensile strength,hairiness reduction rate,wear resistance and fracture work slowed down.Considering the sizing performance and cost,the optimal amount of XPW is 10%.Compared with traditional size,XPW has the following five advantages.Low viscosity,high permeability,less surface coating,which is conducive to the improvement of sizing hairiness reduction rate and wear resistance;low sizing rate,but can ensure the uniformity and integrity of the sizing film,which can reduce the rigidity of hairiness,reduce the entanglement between hairiness,and reduce the energy consumption of sizing drying;environmental friendly,CODCr value is lower than the traditional size,which meets the requirements of environmental protection;XPW is a kind of water-saving material.When the concentration of XPW slurry is 10%,the actual solid content of 40%water-based polymer is only 4%,which has the advantages of low dosage.It is easy to use,and the warp finishing agent XPW has no compound with other substances,single composition,convenient weighing,and it is a kind of water-based polymer.It does not need to boil the slurry,and can be diluted to the appropriate concentration by adding water,which reduces the workload and cost of the process of boiling and chemical materials.The research of this topic can solve some problems existing in traditional size,and can achieve the sizing effect of traditional size,meet the weaving requirements,which has been proved to be feasible in the laboratory.The specific weaving efficiency and energy saving and consumption reduction level need to be analyzed in combination with the sizing process of enterprises in actual production.
