With social development and technological improvement, people demand more and more green and ecology friendly textiles. Since new type fibers adapt the green ecology friendly developmental trend, and people pursue on vogue and comfortability with the constantly improvement of the living stand, so these fibers are quickly improved. At present, soybean fiber, tencel and bamboo fiber are common new type fibers.Sizing agent Slurry should be selected based on the principle of similarity and compatibility and the chemical characteristics of the yarn. Generally, people choose Sizing agent that contain hydrophilic functional groups. But, owing to physical and mechanical properties of the new type fiber, such as strength, extension, abrasion resistance which are not higher than synthetic fiber (such as polyester fiber), people should pay attention to choose sizes with better quality. PVA is one of primary sizes for warp sizing. Although PVA isn't harmful to human body, its biologicaldegradation is but very bad. With the discharging of waste water after the desizing, it will influence the entironment seriously by a long time.New type yarns' sizing should adapt to the trend of sizing without PVA. Based on the principle of similarity and compatibility, the mixture formulation of oxidized starch and acrylic size is selected to size the soybean pure yarn, the tencel pure yarn and the bamboo pure yarn, including single-end and warp sizing experiment. Concrete experimental contents and conclusions are as follows.(1) Three new type yarns are singly-end sized with eleven different proportions of oxidized starch and acrylic size in the formulation. The performances of sized yarns, including tensile strength, breaking elongation rate, 3mm hairiness index and abrasion resistance, are tested, analysed and compared. Experimental results demonstrate, By soybean pure yarns which are singly-end sized the best proportion of size mixture of oxidized starch and acrylic size is 50:50, by tencel pure yarns, the best proportion of size mixture is 60:40, and by bamboo pure yarns the best proportion of size mixture is 70:30.(2) Three new type yarns are singly-end sized with PVA formulation and factory practical formulation. The performances of the sized yarns are tested and analysed, and the results of these two formulations and the best formulation without PVA are compared. The Conclusions demonstrate that it is better that three new type yarns are singly-end sized with the bestformulations of without PVA.(3) Three new type yarns are warp sized with the best formulations without PVA, PVA formulations and factory practical formulations. The results of warp sizing are similar to the results of singly-end sizing that the best formulations without PVA are better than the formulations with PVA and in practice.One of the deficiencies in this dissertation is that the cost of sizing is higher.
