With the development of the oil and gas drilling in deep formations,the number of deep and ultra-deep wells continues to increase,and low ROP(rate of penetration)has become a key factor restricting oil and gas exploration and development.ROP enhancing tool is one of the main ways to increase the ROP of deep wells.The pulsed jet vibration tool can effectively modulate the pulse jet and generate axial pulsating impact force,which has a significant ROP enhancing.Although many remarkable results have been achieved based on the research of pulse jet and axial vibration,the vibration characteristics driven by pulse jet is not clear yet,and the structure design of pulsed jet vibration tool still needs to be improved.In this paper,we carried out the characteristic test and optimization design of the ROP enhancing tool power mechanism,pulse generating mechanism,longitudinal impact and torque transmission mechanism respectively by means of numerical simulation,characteristic test and field test:(1)Design and process the power mechanism of ROP enhancing tool of different turbine types,and test the pulse characteristics of the pulse jet generated by the turbine to the tool with different stages,blade inclination angles and materials According to the test results,choose a non-frosted turbine with four-stage small blade inclination.(2)The effect of the disc valve group with different blade numbers on the pulse characteristics of the ROP enhancing tool was tested.The test results showed that as the number of disc valve blades increased,the frequency of the pulse jet generated by the ROP enhancing tool increased and the pulse amplitude decreased.The pulse generator of the ROP enhancing tool selects the double-blade disc valve.(3)The flow field model of the longitudinal impact and torque transmission mechanism of the ROP enhancing tool was established to simulate the effect of the through-hole size on the pulse and vibration characteristics of the ROP enhancing tool.It is found that the diameter of the through hole is in the range of 35 mm to 50 mm,and the amplitude of impact force and pressure consumption are relatively reasonable.The diameter of the tool through hole is preferably 45 mm.(4)On-site testing of the optimized ROP enhancing tool was carried out.The ROP enhancing tool operated 65.92 hours underground.The working condition was good and the ROP could be increased by 15.96%.The research results preliminarily revealed the influence of the type of turbine,the structure of the disc valve and the size of the through hole on the jet pulse effect and impact force amplitude generated by ROP enhancing tool.It is expected to provide a theoretical basis for the optimization design of hydraulic pulsed jet vibration tool.
