At the present time,numerous synthetic fibers have been integrated into the resin matrix as reinforcing phases.Fiber-reinforced composite materials mainly use various types of resins.However,these resins have many drawbacks,such as volume shrinkage during curing,sensitivity to water,temperature,high-energy rays,and the addition of curing agents,etc.,which limit their use in various fields.To face these challenges,Bismaleimide resin was used as a thermosetting resin because of their many attractive properties.Firstly,the short carbon fibers(SCFs)and short Kevlar fibers(SKFs)were used to reinforce the bismaleimide resins,respectively.Before the curing,the carbon fibers were chemically treated by the using of silane coupling agent to enhance the interaction between the fibers and resin matrix,and improve their interfacial adhesion.The composites were investigated by Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),graphically showed that the silane treatment has been observed on the outer surface of both SCFs and SKFs.We noticed that the composites with 30%of SCFs contents,were showed the best enhancement in the mechanical properties expressed by the flexural strength,flexural modulus were 174.8MPa,4.9GPa respectively,and the tensile strength and tensile modulus were,105 MPa,2.41GPa respectively,the impact strength were24.7 KJ/m~2.For the composite with 30%of SKFs contents,the flexural strength,flexural modulus were 155MPa,3.7GPa respectively,and the tensile strength and tensile modulus were,96MPa,2.1GPa respectively,the impact strength were 18.7 KJ/m~2.Secondly,the morphological,structural,thermal,and mechanical properties of hybrid short carbon fiber and short Kevlar fiber reinforce the bismaleimide resins were studied.The hybrid fibers(SCFs)and(SKFs)were treated by silane coupling agent(surface treatment),then combine various hybrid fibers contents into the resin matrix,and then isothermally cured using the compression molding technique.This hybrid had outstanding bending,tensile and impact properties,we noticed that the hybrid composites with 15%of SCFs and 15%of SKFs contents were recorded the best enhancement in the mechanical properties,the flexural strength,flexural modulus were192MPa,5.8GPa respectively,and the tensile strength and tensile modulus were,145MPa,2.60GPa respectively,the impact strength were 33.6 KJ/m~2.The SEM and FTIR studies showed a good dispersion and adhesion of the reinforcing hybrid fibers inside the bismaleimide resin matrix.
