Waterborne polyurethane is an environmentally friendly polymer material dispersed in water. It has developed rapidly and has become one of the most popular products. However,in actual use, bacteria and microorganisms will multiply on the surface of the material, emerging the biomembrane, damaging the surface of the material and even causing serious harm to people's health and even life.Quaternary ammonium salts have a wide range of antibacterial properties, not easy to spread, and low bacterial resistance, which are one of the most widely used antibacterial substances on contact surfaces.(1)Firstly,polybutylene adipate,3-dimethylamino-1,2-propanediol(DMAPD)and isophorone diisocyanate are the main raw materials. The content of DMAPD was changed to synthesize an antibacterial waterborne polyurethane emulsion with low particle size and containing quaternary ammonium salt. The results indicate that when the amount of DMAPD is 7%,the synthesized emulsion has favorable dispersibility, thermal stability, hydrophobicity and antibacterial properties.(2)In order to improve the antibacterial performance, the fluorine-containing polyether polyol(Fluorolink-E10H)is used as the soft segment to generate fluorine-modified cationic water-based polyurethane. The antibacterial performance test shows that the quaternary ammonium salt group and Fluorolink-E10 H have a certain synergistic effect, and the introduction of the fluorine group enhances the antibacterial activity of waterborne polyurethane against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.(3)To meet the requirements of economy and environmental protection and improve the antibacterial performance of waterborne polyurethane,siloxane-containing cationic waterborne polyurethane(CWPU)dispersion was developed using,3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyldimethoxymethylsilane as a chain extender. The test results show that with the increase of APTS content, the antibacterial activity of all CWPU dispersions has been significantly improved, and the inhibition zone can reach 13.71 mm.
